The first stage affected VAT returns, and we’ve helped all our VAT-registered clients meet their MTD requirements.

The next stage, MTD for Income Tax Self-Assessment (MTD for ITSA), will be mandatory from 6 April 2026 for certain self-employed individuals and property landlords. We can guide you on the right software and help you get ready.

MTD for partnerships and limited companies will come later, and we’ll make sure to keep you updated on anything that affects you.
