I’m the founder and managing director of the company, and after more than 40 years in the profession, I still feel just as passionate about helping clients succeed as I did on day one. I love combining practical, down-to-earth business advice with proactive tax planning to give clients the kind of support that really makes a difference.
I qualified as a Chartered Accountant over four decades ago, training with one of Glasgow’s oldest CA firms before taking the leap to establish my own practice. It’s been a journey filled with energy, challenges, and plenty of rewarding moments, and I take great pride in helping clients overcome obstacles and achieve their goals.
Outside the office, I enjoy cooking and entertaining—there’s nothing better than a busy kitchen filled with good food and laughter. I’m also a huge music fan and can often be found at concerts, soaking up the atmosphere and enjoying live performances. Above all, I cherish every moment I get to spend with my grandchildren.

With a BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry and Biomedicine, a BBA in International Business and Economics, and an MSc in Strategic Management and Leadership, I bring a diverse academic background to my work. I am currently working towards completing my ACCA qualification to become a Chartered Certified Accountant, expanding my expertise in the financial sector. I have over 15 years’ experience in strategic management across multiple industries, developing a reputation as a professional problem solver. I thrive in finding solutions where others see challenges, combining analytical thinking with a practical, people-focused approach.
Outside of work, I am passionate about all things scary—whether that’s horror movies, events, or books—and I am a proud animal activist, supporting and volunteering with sanctuaries whenever I can. I also volunteer with Strut Safe, an organisation dedicated to helping people feel safer when travelling alone. A keen cook and baker, I often host dinner events for friends, and I have a deep love for travel and experiencing new cultures.
What I enjoy most about working at The Hansen Company is the team’s genuine care for clients and their success. Being part of someone’s journey—through their highs, lows, and milestones—is incredibly rewarding. I also value the vibrancy of the accountancy industry; while some might imagine it as dull, I see it as a space filled with passionate people and inspiring stories. Everyday brings a new chapter in a client’s journey, and it’s a privilege to be part of it.

I originally studied microbiology before changing direction and finding my place in accountancy. Since then, I’ve completed AAT to level 3 and am currently working through level 4. I also hold a QBO ProAdvisor certification and am working towards becoming Xero certified, which helps me support clients across different platforms.
Day to day, I particularly enjoy getting involved in VAT, tax and company accounts, and I’m also responsible for running payroll. I really value the variety in this industry – no two days are ever the same, and there’s always something new to learn. Whether it’s adapting to changes in tax legislation or helping a client work through a challenge, I enjoy the problem-solving side of the role and the chance to keep developing my skills.
Outside of work, I’m a big football fan and play 5-a-side regularly. I’m also currently training for a half marathon, which is both challenging and rewarding, and keeps me motivated outside the office.
What I love most about working at The Hansen Company is being part of a small, dedicated team. We all work closely together and genuinely support one another, which makes a real difference not only to our clients but to how enjoyable and fulfilling the role is for me.

Working at The Hansen Company has been incredibly rewarding — the team is not only supportive and friendly, but also inspires me to grow and learn every day. One of the things I love most about the accountancy industry is that there’s always something new to discover, whether it’s a fresh regulation, a clever tax strategy, or a more efficient way to approach a client’s needs.
Outside the office, I’m a huge football fan. I love catching games on TV and cheering in the stands at live matches whenever I can. I’m also an avid gamer, enjoying immersive video games as a way to relax and unwind. These hobbies give me a chance to recharge and bring my best self to work each day.
I take pride in being part of a company where I can make a tangible difference for clients while learning and growing alongside a team that genuinely cares.
